It was a great pleasure for our team to visit LaGuardia Airport and work with professional engineers on the project. Not only did we have a chance to share our knowledge and expertise, but we learned many new things along the way too.

In addition to abstract painting, Sophia Chizuco builds her career in performance and installation art, mural, and sculpture. It is also important to note that the artist held workshops at “I am an Immigrant” event, Museum of Jewish Heritage, National Yiddish Theatre, and Ellis Island Immigration Museum. Besides, she was a mentor in the Immigrant Artists Program at the New York Foundation for the Arts in 2013, 2014, 2016, 2017, and 2018.

Overall, Fisk University Galleries features a permanent collection of over 4,000 artworks that span several centuries of art history. They all are housed in the Aaron Douglas Gallery and Carl Van Vechten Gallery. Besides, the University is known for the Aaron Douglas murals located in Cravath Hall within a short walk of the galleries.
